Terminal Crisis

Terminal Crisis (2025) is a body of work consisting of eight Polaroid 600 photos exploring the metamodern identity crisis many Westerners are currently facing. In a time when speech (particularly left-wing sentiment) is heavily restricted within the institutions and platforms that construct public consent, how do we steer clear of a deeply overstimulating information landscape and make sense of the end of history (?), the death of neoliberalism, as well as the rise of something previously undefined?
As Western global dominance wanes, social contradictions have become more apparent, and contempt for the current state of being is higher than ever. Young men are becoming increasingly disillusioned with their peers, as pathological antisocial behavior plagues Gen Z. Given the environment in which young people have grown up, alongside the immense lack of security felt broadly by the majority of Americans, a desire for change is more prevalent than ever.

Thoughts on Meditation (2026) pairs found VHS footage from the Internet Archive with an original poem that looks to analyze the ways in which we perceive ourselves, our relationship to spirituality, and the language we use to relate to it. We question others' interiority but fail to question our own, and as a result, lose a sense of self.
