Terminal Crisis (2025) is a body of work consisting of eight Polaroid 600 photos exploring the metamodern identity crisis many Westerners are currently facing. In a time when speech (particularly left-wing sentiment) is heavily restricted within the institutions and platforms that construct public consent, how do we steer clear of a deeply overstimulating information landscape and make sense of the end of history (?), the death of neoliberalism (for real this time) , as well as the rise of something previously undefined?
As Western global dominance wanes, China has begun to establish itself as the most dominant power in the East, rivaling the United States and its influence on the Global South. As a result of this insecurity in the West, America now finds itself in the midst of a deeply frightening identity crisis. Social contradictions have become more apparent, and contempt for the current state of being is higher than ever — especially among both parties in the United States. Young men are becoming increasingly disillusioned with their peers, as pathological antisocial behavior plagues Gen Z. Given the environment in which young people have grown up, alongside the immense lack of security felt broadly by the majority of Americans, a desire for change is more prevalent than ever.
